Taking care of the basketball and shot selection are the two priorities for the Midway offense coming into the season. “As we enter basketball season, we look forward to using prior experience as a strength. Utilizing our size, speed, and knowledge of the game will be a key factor this year. Working with these young ladies since they were young, I feel this is a group of athletes we can expect big success from this season,” said coach McCullar. Dimond Stafford (5-6, Jr.) brings speed to the floor with an 11-point average from her guard spot. Aspen Collins (5-8, Jr.) averaged 12.3 points and 5.4 rebounds a game at forward. Chanya Thomas (5-7, Jr.) runs the floor very well and averages 11 points with 3.5 assists per game. Vera Howard (5-8, Jr.) is a tremendous defender and rebounder. Last year she averaged 8.6 rebounds a game. Lacharielle Stafford (5-9, Jr.) is a physical presence inside and never backs down from anyone. Other players to watch include Kaylee Herriman (5- 5, Sr.), Kennedy McCullar (5-10, So.), Emma Ziegler (5-3, So.), Jojo Howard (5-5, So.), Jordyn Hollis (5-6, So.), Livi Ward (5-11, So.), Katelynn Skiles (5-10, Fr.) and Keira Ray (5-4, Fr.). STW – Kennedy McCullar is back after suffering an injury that sidelined her last season. Thanks to a tremendous work ethic, McCullar has improved her athleticism and strength and is expected to make an impact this season.
