After pouring the footing to the foundation for success last season, the Knights enter 2020 ready to move into the locker room of success returning eight starters to the offensive lineup. Preparations during the summer and into fall camp will allow second year head coach Lance Beck and staff the time to evaluate the talents of Ryan Pixler (6-3, 220, Jr.) and Dalton Pemberton (6-2, 180, Jr.) who are locked in competition at quarterback. Whoever wins the signal calling duties will smile while checking the parade of receiving options highlighted by Cameron McKinney (6-1, 161, Sr.) who grabbed 24 catches for 683 yards and scored eight times a year ago. Alex Hudson (5-9, 150, Sr.) is another proven target after making 30 receptions for 506 yards and five scores as well empower the Knights running game. Kolby Winslow (5-10, 150, Sr.) who totaled 29 catches for 504 yards and seven trips to the end zone will make key receptions in space along with Phillip Rice (6-1, 160, Jr.) whose 37 catches produced 442 yards and five touchdowns. “This group of receivers bring an attitude of high expectations to our lineup that carries over to the rest of the group,” said Beck.

The Knights defensive approach will continue to focus on putting speed on the field and getting all 11 players aggressively attacking the football. Among the eight returning starters, Beck smiles when reviewing the hard nose play of linebacker Tyler Wilson (5-11, 217, Sr.) who recorded 161 tackles including a pair of safeties last year while his counterpart Randal Elzy (5-11, 180, Jr.) strikes with force evidenced by his 115 tackles a year ago. Kolby Kinslow, Alex Hudson and Cameron McKinney return and will provide game changing results in the Knights secondary. “Our approach is to embrace the process and play through any challenge,” said Beck. “When we do that everyday on every play, good things will happen.”
