Okmulgee’s Gabbi Garcia – Character Counts Presented by Impact Rehab & Wellness
“I miss being around kids and doing everything on-line is kind of weird,” said the Bulldog sophomore. “We had practiced softball and played in the Gore Tournament and even cheered at a football game before the shutdown.”
Musically Gabbi started young playing the piano and joining the band in the sixth grade. She is in the OHS marching band drum line and plays percussion instruments. She started playing softball in coach pitch and plays catcher for the Lady Bulldogs in fastpitch and outfield for slow pitch. She got interested in cheer while watching Okmulgee junior high football and is now in her second year of cheer at the high school where she is a co-captain of the squad.
“I’m very honored to be nominated as a Home Town Hero and realize that people are seeing me as a leader now. The idea that people see me as a role model makes me feel great especially as a sophomore.”
