Coach: Lynwood Wade

2019-20 Record: 2-18

It’s not the size of the dog in the fight but it’s the size of the fight in the dog…The phrase may describe the atmosphere surrounding the Roughers basketball program as second year head coach Lynwood Wade’s roster is void of height and overrunning with effort. VYPE Top 100 nominee Xavier Brown (6-0, Sr.) is a proven point producer including a stop-n-pop three point release returns to the first five on the floor after leading the Roughers scoring last year averaging 15.8 points per game. Tabbed as a two-way scorer, off the bounce and from beyond the arc, Javontae Campbell (6-0, Jr.) will play a key role in Muskogee’s point parade after averaging 8.5 points a game as a sophomore last year. Wade points out that Jaraun Campbell (6-4, Sr.), who averaged 8.8 points while grabbing 3.6 rebounds can play 1-through-5 spots on the court and provide much needed size and length in the paint. The quick hands and up-close defensive efforts of James Brown (5-11, Sr.) brings back a 7.5 scoring average while producing 4-plus scoring assists to teammates. Wade will also call upon Joseph Campbell (6-1, Jr.) for added hustle productivity. “It’s obvious we’re short on height,” Wade admits, “but we’re a very scrappy team that can use our quickness to force turnovers and let our top-notch scorers finish.” SOMETHING TO WATCH - Competing in the 6A classification, the Roughers will encounter a taller opponent each night but the quickness and aggressiveness of the Muskogee lineup can create excitement for their fans…we’ve all heard about David vs. Goliath…the Roughers outlook is defined as #RAW – Roughers Against the World and win the Muskogee way!
